Our Quest towards Technical School

Shikharapur CLC (SCLC) is a non profit organization based in Southern Region of Kathmandu District. SCLC is a part of overall Shikharapur movement which has started its journey from literacy, saving & credit, and empowerment of women. It has been a decade that SCLC has been part of this development in the region.

SCLC is working in an integrated way where it is incorporated with a college for university education, school for formal schooling, open school for alternative/open learning, women school for the mothers education and capacity development. Another important part of SCLC is Bottle House Agriculture Project funded by ONGD-FNEL, Luxembourg. With the great support of our partner, ONGD-FNEL, we have been working for the entrepreneurship development of youth and women.

Recently, SCLC has upgraded its strategy to start Agriculture Learning Resource Centre (ALRC). The future plan is to start technical education. We ought to start resource center incorporated with short term/long term certified trainings based in CTEVT or gain affiliation from CTEVT itself for continuous package of training or furthermore, we look forward to start 9-12 Class Technical School. Plant Science and Veterinary Science is our main priorities.

On this behalf, today, SCLC organized a meeting at Curriculum Development Centre under Ministry of Education, Nepal Government. This government line agency prepares the curriculum and also suggest us for the best courses regarding our available human resources and infrastructure.  The visiting team is incorporated with principals from different government and public schools as well. 4 Secondary Schools, 1 Open School, 1 College representatives from Dakshinkali Municipality participated in the visit.

In near future, the visiting schools will start their feasibility study in the development of technical school in their respective organization. SCLC will also start its study and plan regarding the development of technical education centre as an integral part of ALRC.

Technical Education expert Mr. Khila Nath Dhamala and Curriculum Dev. Expert Mr. Prem Kumar Bhattarai helped our overall learning trip.
