Shikharapur CLC (SCLC) organized a One Day Seasonal Vegetable Farming Training for farmers of Dakshinkali Municipality on 19th June. SCLC organized this training with great support of Agriculture Development Department of Dakshinkali Municipality. The training is part of “Youth and Women Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development Project” funded by ONGD-FNEL, Luxembourg.
Resource Persons namely Dhananjaya Sharma, Parbata Rai and Yamuna Basnet took different subjects to train the participants. Ms. Pramila Waiba, Agriculture Technician (ISc.Ag/ JT) of SCLC coordinated the training.
Program Manager Mr. Niroj Shrestha welcomed the participants with short descriptive sharing about project while Ms. Waiba shared some information about the project entrepreneurship activities. Participants introduced themselves with sharing some of their agricultural activities that they are doing.
Participants were from registered farmers group from Dakshinkali Municipality consisting all 9 wards. Few intern (OJT) students also participated in the training.
Trainers gave lesson about different types of seasonal vegetables, soil preparation, management, fertilizer and paste management, general IPM ideas etc.
In totality, the training went well. But the trainers suggested us that the training should be at least 3 days long which will also include field practical and some short visits. Trainers applied different methods like presentations, case study sharing, interaction, sharing by participants, Q&A etc to deliver the knowledge to the participants.
