Shikharapur CLC is a community organization on Farping that works to improve the lives of the locals and advance development through a variety of creative concepts. The group concentrates on several initiatives that encourage resourceful living while utilizing sustainable resources. The initiatives cover a wide range of topics, such as agriculture, education, advocacy, and community health. Hundreds of students come here every year from all across the country and the Kathmandu valley, as of right now.
Social work students work on this organization as an intern or volunteer, expecting a fantastic sense of learning realistically and understanding the true social work by working with professionals. The establishment of the Agriculture Learning Resources Center, which aims to broaden the scope of learning agriculture through the practical approach, is one of the organization’s major accomplishments. By giving seeds, dip irrigation, and other resources in addition to training and other materials to increase the farmers’ revenue, this group has empowered the farmers.
In a same way, this group promotes gender equality and gives dropout students access to education regardless of age. Depending on their abilities and capabilities, those students are hired by the company when they graduate. Through this organization, members in underprivileged communities have the chance to develop their abilities and networks. One of the Founder, Mr Niroj Shrestha, encourages people from different communities both national and international to take the initiative in these kinds of projects by offering mentorship. He and his team have used creativity to their work with renewable resources. The main draw is a house made of bottles and chairs made of tires.
From this organization, a student can receive hands-on training and mentoring in social work and business. This organization has to reach the milestone in order to receive recognition from many people throughout the world.
