Due to the pandemic, masks have been shielding people from the covid-19. So, people are adjusted to wearing masks on a daily basis. There are various kinds of masks available in the market like surgical masks, medical masks, and cloth masks.
Shikharapur Community Learning Centre (SCLC) has brought a program to produce masks using the local resource persons. They are empowering women by providing them skills in producing the cloth mask using local resources. One of the objectives in making such masks is to sell affordable, quality, effective masks to customers. The cause for producing such masks is to provide employment to local people of Dakshinkali Municipality for now. In order to grow such a business module this program was introduced where skillful people give training to local people which will eventually help in growing this business. On other hand people are getting employed which is helping in elevating their lifestyle and community development as well.
These kinds of training to local people will make them self-sufficient, independent and resourceful. “Mask Making Training Program” has a larger goal to achieve in the near future. So people who buy masks from us will be buying for a cause. As it will help in providing and promoting more employment for the local people. These kinds of promotions are much needed for the development of our society, community and country. These masks are affordable, reusable so people will also be benefiting from buying this.
The training is supported financially by Dakshinkali Municipality, ward no.5 and technically supported by Wine to Water Nepal.
