As there is a saying ‘ a niche in a landmark’,  likewise we got a chance to work in SCLC as an intern from 29th October to 5th November, and on 2nd November we were given an opportunity  to welcome some of the supporters of SCLC where the interns were given the platform to make it very fruitful  through their enthusiastic creativity .

On the day, we were given a platform to welcome the delegates from Luxembourg who were a major part of SCLC. Through this program, supporters of SCLC had the opportunity to work together towards common goals, leveraging their collective skills and expertise. Teamwork plays a crucial role in achieving success in any endeavor, and the program recognizes this by fostering an environment that encourages collaboration, communication, and synergy. The highlight of the event was a speech given by an intern Anshriya Shrestha, who had been a part of SCLC as a beneficiary intern. The intern shared their personal journey and how the support from the community had transformed their learning. Another highlight of the event was a dance performance by the following interns:Akanshya Belbase, Merry Jones, Shakshi Singh Bhandari which reflected our Nepali culture and tradition. A dance performance can be the best way to welcome an outsider as the form of expression and art. Also, the program served as a testament to how collective efforts can make a significant difference in uplifting communities.

To welcome the supporters in a unique style, small tokens were given by the intern such as handmade items which included Nepal flag’s badge , handmade bookmarks and the envelope which can be reused as a material to grow the plant(biodegradable) as it had different lentils pasted on it. The interns also made a Rangoli. Rangoli, a traditional art form, holds significant cultural and religious importance. It is a beautiful and intricate design created using colorful powders, rice, or flower petals .Creating a rangoli is an art in itself. Thus, Rangoli was a center of attraction for the supporters. As we included Nepal’s flag and their initials in the Rangoli itself.

Then after, Program Manager Mr. Niroj Shrestha showcased how supporters, volunteers, educators, and beneficiaries can come together to create a positive change along with how SCLC had experienced a progressive change through the supporters. By fostering an environment of collaboration and teamwork, Shikharapur Community Learning Centre has become a beacon of hope for many individuals seeking opportunities to develop their academics along with their life skills.

Speech cited by Anshriya on behalf of Residential Interns,

“ Regardless of the situation, regardless of the scoreboard, you are going to be successful because you have put in all the time , all the effort , all the hard work and you know that it’s going to pay off.”

A warm good morning to everyone present here. I’m Anshriya Shrestha, an undergraduate student of Social Work representing St. Xavier College and currently an intern here at Shikharapur CLC. It’s a great privilege to  be associated with SCLC even if it’s for a short period of time. We got a chance to be involved with students through Emcee training, dance training, also got to learn about the open school system, etc. We even had a door to door interaction in order to inform villagers about the ongoing programs at SCLC.

The former batches from St. Xavier’s College (our senior) were also a part of SCLC for long enough and contributed to the organization. During those times , they were residing at the bottle house which all of you ( guests) just visited. The next batch was successfully able to reside at Shikharapur school area with much easier facilities than the last batch and this year we got the privilege to reside in this new building where we have no fear of any problems that may arise and are provided with all the facilities needed. This shows the progress of SCLC through all the hard work of the members and the support given to the organization by groups and individuals like you ( guests and generous donors from ONGD-FNEL).

We hope SCLC reaches greater heights and we believe it definitely will through its continued efforts and dedication. Now, I’d like to invite my friends to showcase a dance performance in front of you ( guests) all. I hope you all had a great time here, Thank You!

In conclusion, the Beneficiaries Power to Success program has proven to be a valuable initiative for the supporters of Shikharapur CLC. Through this program, participants have gained valuable skills and knowledge that will contribute to their personal and professional success.

We would like to express my gratitude to all those involved in organizing this program – from the staff at Shikharapur to the generous supporters who made it possible. Your commitment to empowering individuals through education is commendable.

In conclusion, the Beneficiaries Power to Success program has been a resounding success. It has not only provided valuable skills and resources but also fostered a sense of community among its participants.
