Shikharapur Community Learning Center (SCLC) in joint cooperation with the Agriculture Department of Dakshinkali Municipality organized one-day nursery development Training for cash crop training at Talku Dudechaur ward no. 9, on August 21, 2022. Yamuna Basnet, Agriculture Assistant of Agriculture department of Dakshinkali Municipality trained the participants and Pramila Waiba (Agricultural Technician (ISc.Ag/JT) of SCLC coordinated the training and was assisted by Mina Thing (Financial Officer).
The training is organized under the plan of Youth and Women Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Development Project of SCLC supported by ONGD-FNEL, Luxembourg.
The chairperson of SCLC Shyam Bahadur K.C. welcomed the participants by giving a short descriptive exchange about the project and the program, while the ward chairperson Amrika Balami shared some words and wishes for the success of the training and Jiwan Thapa, the manager of the cooperative, also provided great support for the program.
In the training 20 female from 5 registered women’s groups of Ward 9 were participated. The instructor conducted classes on introduction of Nursery, site selection, preparation of soil and method of soil treatment as well as method of keeping seeds. The practical was also done by participants during training on social purification and method on making nursery beds.
The participants suggested that the training period was short and it should be a little longer in the coming days. Trainers used various methods to impart knowledge to the participants such as case study sharing, interaction, there is full participation by the participant’s various questions were asked and answers were given.
