Supporting deprived students to access online/alternative learning during pandemic.
During the 2020 global pandemic lockdown, we have established three centres for school children and adult learners to access remote learning. There are in total 25 computers and free internet access for any device brought to the centres, with technical guidance, hand sanitizers and face masks available on-site.
In addition, we provided on-going, need-based training and facilities to instructors of all levels of education, on technologies for remote teaching and learning. We also contacted 60 other CLCs around the country via phone calls, to provide guidance on online teaching and communication.
In our residential farming school, we focus on learning practical knowledge in farming and marketing. When schools were closed, our students used their free time to develop a cow shed equipped with waste processing machines that turns cow dung into fertilizers, which we use for vermin composting and compost heating. These activities are conducted in open areas coupled with mask-wearing. Our students attempted digital marketing via social media for our farm products, which brought remarkable results.
